About the Botica:

Abuelita’s Botica was born from the hands of two women—Maria Louisa and Ana Noemy—and a long line of matriarchs who knew that everything you need to heal grows from the earth.

Our story travels from a lush backyard garden in El Salvador to a tiny apartment kitchen in East Harlem. Our products are made with the same ingredients our grandmothers used—not because they were trendy, but because they worked. In a world of "clean beauty" buzzwords, we return to the source: ancestral remedies, indigenous plant wisdom, and the power of mujeres to create healing from what is around them.

We don’t believe in fancy formulas or overcomplication. We believe in the "Abuelita Standard": No parabens. No sulfates. No mystery.

Today, every bar is still cured and wrapped by hand right here in NYC to carry on a legacy of cariño, cultura, y comunidad. We aren’t just making products; we are crafting remedies for the skin and the soul.

Welcome to the Botica.

    • 🧼 Handmade in small batches in Nuevayol (NYC).

    • 🌿 Skin-first ingredients, tested on family, not animals—ever.

    • ♻️ Earth-friendly, plastic-free packaging.

    • 💧 Waterless & Concentrated: We don't use fillers. Every drop of oil and every ounce of butter is there to heal your skin.

    • 🚫 The Abuelita Standard: No parabens. No sulfates. No mystery.

  • Ancestral Knowledge is Sacred

Our abuelitas didn’t need trends or labs—they had romero, manzanilla, albahaca, eucalipto, café, and avena. We honor that inheritance by crafting with intention, guided by the seasons and the intuition passed down through generations. We don’t follow the hype; we follow the healing.

  • Made con Amor (y la Naturaleza)

At Abuelita’s Botica, we believe in keeping it simple, natural, and effective. Our bars are handcrafted using:

    • Cold-pressed Oils: Jojoba, Sweet Almond, Castor, Sunflower, Olive, Coconut, and Avocado.

    • Rich, Raw Butters: High-quality Cocoa, Shea and Mango butters for deep, velvet hydration.

    • The Healers: Goat Milk and Colloidal Oatmeal for soothing sensitive skin, eczema, and providing a creamy, gentle lather.

    • Earth’s Colors & Detoxifiers: Natural Clays and Herbal Infusions of romero, manzanilla, and albahaca to cleanse and calm the skin.

    • Botanical Infusions: Real Rose petals, Rose extract, and other essential oils.

    • The Builders: Pure White Beeswax and naturally derived hardeners like sodium lactate.

    • The Finish: Gentle fragrance blends and earth-mined micas for a soft, natural glow.

Meet the Maker: Ana Noemy

Healer, Soapera, Abuelita.

Meet Ana, though around here, you can just call her Abuelita ! Long before "clean beauty" was a trend, Abuelita Ana was learning the language of the earth. Raised in El Salvador by her own grandmother, María Louisa (Mama Licha), she learned that everything you need to heal is already grown: plants, flowers, and roots. Nothing more, nothing less.

For years, Ana was a nurturer by trade, working as an early interventionist to support children on the spectrum. But when the pandemic hit and the world paused within four walls, she had a "full circle" moment. Seeing her own familia struggle with eczema and skin sensitivities and realizing that mainstream products were often just a "chemical storm"—she went back to her roots.

From the Cocina to the Botica

Reminded of Mama Licha’s indigenous Salvadoran traditions, Ana turned her kitchen into a laboratory of "everyday magic." No more químicos, no more compromises. What started as a labor of love for her kids and grandkids soon became a joyful coro of voices spreading the word.

Today, living in Nuevayol, Abuelita continues her craft alongside her family. Every bar is still made by hand, reflecting a commitment to your well-being and our precious planet.

“Abuelita’s Botica isn’t just a brand. It’s my botica and now, it’s yours too. I invite you to celebrate life, love, and the wonders nature grants us. Welcome to nature’s embrace, from mis manos to yours.”

Con Amor,

Abuelita
